Green Seasoning "Adding Extra Flavor to Your Dishes"

Updated: Sep 14, 2020

One of my best girlfriends is from Trinadad. We have worked together for many years and have shared our families along with food, culture, tips and recipes. I love the Island, the people and the food! I believe my inter-self is Trini...this is my story and I'm sticking to it. One of the secrets to delicious Caribbean food is "Green Seasoning", it is a mix of green vegetables and herbs ground in a food processor. It can be used immediately or stored in the refrigerator or freezer. Taste buds get ready.. Green Seasoning can be made with parsley, cilantro, green onions, yellow onions, garlic, bell pepper, ginger, basil, thyme, rosemary and pimento peppers. Add a spoonful to all your dishes and your food will explode in your mouth with layers of flavor.

If you get a change to visit Trinidad & Tobago make sure you try the "Doubles" . It is made with curry chickpeas, flat bread, cucumber chutney and tamarind sauce. I made it at home but it doesn't compare to the authentically made version.

Do you have friends from other states, countries, ethnic or cultural backgrounds? Well..you should, and you should share and embrace your differences because it sure taste good to me!

Try something new..Enjoy
